IN HARMONIE JOURNEY: HARMONY

As Christians we believe that when Christ returns, we will experience ultimate harmony. In the meantime, we can experience moments of harmony in our everyday lives.

We have explored our context and the elements that can create disharmony. Now we will explore areas where we desire harmony, and this will be followed by practices that can help us to achieve this.

STEP 1: INTRODUCTION: IN HARMONIE HARMONY

STEP 2: TAKE TIME

TO REFLECT

What is the harmony that we desire in our relationships ?

1.Between ourselves and God?

2. Within ourselves?

3.Between ourselves and other people?

4. With our work or organisation?

Take a moment to explore these areas. Now turn to a friend and pose these questions, listening to their answers openly and honestly.

STEP 3: TEXT & THEORY

What does God teach us about harmony?

“I’m absolutely convinced that nothing – nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable – absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” – Rom 8:39, The Message

What does the scripture teach us about harmony? How can we achieve this balance in our lives?

STEP 4: THINK ABOUT YOUR HARMONY

Let us take a moment to evaluate harmony in our own lives:

1. When do I feel most alive?

2. In which relationships do I experience the deepest joy?

3. How would I describe my greatest desire?

Now take time to pose these questions to a friend, and listen to them openly and honestly.

STEP 5: LISTEN TO A CONVERSATION

“I feel most in harmony when I can spend time investing in myself. Reading in the Word, doing exercise, getting out in the mountain, in nature. You can see God’s creation around you, and see His majesty.” – Neil Powell

What do we wish for; what do we want to better in terms of career, family, or just life in general?

In our latest podcast episode, in Harmonie CEO Johan Beukes talks to Neil Powell, current coach of the Blitzboks – South African national rugby sevens team.

STEP 6: EXPERIENCE AN IN HARMONIE MOMENT

“I always ask people, what do you burn for? And I’m not asking them what’s your gift or your talent. I’m asking, when you do what it is you are gifted to do, what do you leak into the atmosphere? For me it took a while to find out whenever I sat in front of the piano, my objective was to throw courage into the atmosphere. I wanted people who listened to what I did, to feel the courage of the Lord.”

Rita Springer, international worship leader and founder of the DIVE worship school, visited in Harmonie to guide a group of South African musicians during our first Vibrancy project. She shared some of her experience and insight with us.

STEP 7:  SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE
