IN HARMONIE JOURNEY: DISHARMONY

For the second movement of the in Harmonie Journey, we focus on Disharmony.

We ask ourselves where we find disharmony or friction. Between ourselves and God? In our relationships with ourselves? Between ourselves and others? Between ourselves and our organisation?

STEP 1: INTRODUCTION: IN HARMONIE DISHARMONY

STEP 2: TAKE TIME

TO REFLECT

Let us take a moment to evaluate disharmony in our own lives:

1. What is currently causing disharmony in our lives?

2. Are these groans perhaps pointing to an opportunity for growth? Is there something we can change?

3. What are the things we can be grateful for every day?

Now take time to pose these questions to a friend, and listen to them openly and honestly.

STEP 3: TEXT & THEORY

“If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.” – Rom 8:26, NLT

What are the groans in our lives? What is causing disharmony? And how can we move to a place of balance?

STEP 4: THINK ABOUT YOUR DISHARMONY

Let us take a moment to evaluate disharmony in our own lives:

1. How could we describe our dis-ease?

2. Is there friction in our life?

3. Are we aware of any frustration within us?

4. Is there something amiss in our relationships with others? Disconnection?

Now take time to pose these questions to a friend, and listen to them openly and honestly.

STEP 5: LISTEN TO A CONVERSATION

“I think it’s so important to be grateful for where you are and the person you are, so that even when you look back on your trauma and pain, you realise that it didn’t define you. It’s not who you are. It’s something that happened to you, that was terrible, but it didn’t make you who you are today.” – Candice Mama

Candice Mama talks to in Harmonie CEO Johan Beukes about disharmony, the groans in life, and finding your way in these uncertain times.

Have a listen.

STEP 6: EXPERIENCE AN IN HARMONIE MOMENT

“When we encounter God, we breathe in His presence. We’re then called to take His presence out into the world that so desperately needs it. Prayer is not meant to be locked in a room. Prayer is very much about hearing the Father and responding to the Father.” – Brian Heasley, International Director for 24-7 Prayer.

STEP 7:  SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE
